Information
Appointments

Adult patients wishing to see ANY wll be offered an appointment within 2 days excepting Saturday and Sunday.

Children under the age of 12 will be offered an appointment that will enable them to be seen by a doctor by the end of the next surgery session.

Adults wishing to see a particular doctor will be offered an appointment for when the next available slot is free for that doctor.

These appointments are subject to delay due to the doctor being fully booked or absent through sickness and holidays.

Patients whose illness is of an emergency nature will be invited to come to the surgery and wait and will be seen by a doctor that day.

Home Visits

If you are too ill to come to the surgery, a home visit can be requested. If possible please ring before 10.00am as this will help us organise the day to provide a better service. You may be asked to give some more idea of your illness so that the doctor can visit the more urgent cases first.

Emergencies 677 0016
Within surgery hours your call will be passed to the duty doctor. Out of hours a recorded message will tell you how to contact the G.P. Out of Hours Service. Please listen carefully and have a pen and paper handy.
Repeat Prescriptions

We have a computerised repeat prescription system. Your printed prescription has a list of your medications on the right hand side (tear off portion). When your repeat is due tick against any medications needed and hand the list into reception. The new prescription may then be collected from reception after 2.00pm. the following day. If you leave a stamped addressed envelope we will post your prescription back to you.

Please give 24 hours notice to allow repeat prescriptions to be prepared.

Telephone requests for repeat prescriptions cannot (normally) be accepted. (There would be too great a risk of communication errors).

Test Results
Please phone for results after 2.00pm. After the doctor has seen the results they may be given over the phone by the receptionist. It may be necessary to discuss the result with the doctor in which case you may be asked to phone back later.
Newly Registered Patients

On registering, all new patients are invited to see the practice nurse for a "Check-up".

Sick Notes
For absences of 7 days or less, you do not need a certificate from the doctor. Ask the receptionist for a self-certification form. If you require evidence of sickness for les than 7 days you may ask the doctor for a private certificate, for which a fee will be charged.

Non NHS Examinations
Medical examinations for special purposes (employment, Driving etc.) are done outside surgery times. A fee will be charged.

Immunisations
Babies and Children will be sent appointments by post for routine immunisations. Other vaccinations may be arranged through reception. It is wise to keep polio and tetanus boosters up-to-date, and those at risk of flu should consider flu vaccination in the Autumn.
