Doctors

We
are a training practice. This means we may have a G.P. Registrar
wrking with us. The "G.P. Registrar" is a fully qualified
doctor with at least three years experience in hospital who is
learning about working in a general pracice.
We
also have an additional lady doctor, currently Dr.J. Hortop working
with us 3 sessions each week. She is an experienced G.P. on the
"retainer scheme" which is a scheme to allow doctors
with domestic commitments to continue working until they are able
to return to a full time post.

She
organises the day to day running of the practice and trains and
supervises the receptionists.

Nurses |
| They
run our various clinics and are available for dressings, injections,
travel advice, removal of stitches, ear syringing and blood tests,
Health Checks, ECG's in the surgery, or for the house bound, at
home. They also visit the elderly.. |

arrange appointments and home visits, handle repeat prescriptions
and advise on the services available. |

| Appointments
|
|
All
surgeries are by appointment. Urgent cases will be seen the same
day. You may consult whom you wish, but it is preferable to stay
with one doctor for each particular problem. If you can't attend
an appointment, please let us know, as it frees an appointment
for others.

Telephoning
the Doctor
|
The
best time to talk to the doctors is half an hour before or after
the listed surgery times.
|
|
|
|
Home
Visits
|
If
you are too ill to come to the surgery, a home visit can be
arranged by telephone. Please try to phone before 10.00am.
|
|
|
|
|
Emergencies
|
|
If
you require an urgent appointment or an urgent home visit, day
or night, the number to telephone is always 334 4019.
When the surgery is closed a recorded message will give you a
number of the doctor on call so you will need to make another
call. All night and weekend calls are dealth with by the G.P.
Out Of Hours Service based at Arrowe Park Hospital.

| Prescriptions |
| If
you are taking regular medication we will give you a computer slip
listing your medication. When you next require a prescription, hand
in your slip at reception, or send it with a stamped addressed envelope.
Your prescription should be available immediately. Please let us
know if you do not require any of the medication on the list. |

| Test
Results |
| Results
usually take at least 5(five) days to come through. Smear tests
take approximately 4(four) weeks. Please phone, or call at reception
after 2.00pm. |

| We
are situated in Lancelyn Court Shopping Precinct (click here
for map) which has parking facilities. We have recently extended
the surgery, so we now have an additional consulting / councelling
room upstairs and much more office space, plus a larger waiting
area and improved access and toilet facilities for the disabled |
