- Statement
of Aims
- To provide a range of treatment and care
services for people affected by cancer, together with support for them, their families and carers;
- To work closely with other Healthcare
Professionals and Care Providers to ensure effective and co-ordinated delivery of services to
meet health and social needs;
- To involve the patients as their needs
are assessed, their treatment and care is planned and implemented;
- their diagnosis, treatment and prognosis
to make informed choices about their care, if that is their wish;
- To provide teaching, training and learning
opportunities for staff, ensuring a skilled expert workforce that can deliver the services the
Centre is seeking to provide;
- To provide specialist training and teaching
for staff from other organisations who are involved in the delivery of cancer care;
- To execute clinical and applied laboratory
studies and other research programmes, which will maximise clinical benefit to the patient with
cancer and increase the proportion of research-based treatment and care;
- Continually to monitor and evaluate our
services and activities and implement quality improvement programmes where appropriate
