Introduction
One year down, two to go …
A year on from the launch of Wirral ' Health Improvement Programme,
which incorporates the Community Care Plan (HImP and CCP),we can
record real progress on its published aims.
The three-year Programme aims to improve health, reduce inequalities
and develop more modern, responsive health services for everyone
in Wirral.
Since its launch in spring 2000,the HImP has been affected by
two significant government strategies:
- the
NHS Plan, published in July 2000,which set a series of ambitious
and precise targets for both the NHS and local authorities to
achieve over the next 10 years
- guidance
for local authorities to establish Local Strategic Partnerships
which will prepare community strategies involving all local
organisations.
These
drive the progress expected in modernising health services throughout
the country and we are working hard to ensure that our HImP complies.
