My name is Susan Kenny and I am the Working Family Advisor for all NHS Organisations across the Wirral. I am a qualified NNEB (Nursery Nurse) with numerous years’ experience of working in the childcare sector. I am also a mum to Thomas and work full time, so I am aware of how difficult it can be to balance working with your other caring responsibilities. Hopefully that is where I can help, as I will be offering the following services to all members of staff:

• General information and advice on childcare support and provision and support for Carers that is available in this area and other areas (for people who commute to work).
• Information on specific types of childcare including childminders, nannies, day nurseries, before and after school clubs, play schemes and emergency childcare. This information will include a list of providers in your area and advice on what to look for and questions to ask when you visit the provider for the first time.
• Information on benefits available to working parents who have Caring responsibilities e.g. Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Early Years Education Grant for 3 and 4 year olds, any benefits or grants available to Carers, and any other subsidies or family friendly policies available from your employer.
• Support and signposting for staff who have other caring responsibilities.
