On Friday 24th June 2005, Bethan Case, Clinical Nurse Analyst for Wirral Health Informatics Service trained the 1000th user on the Wirral Electronic Health Record. Denise Gleeson, Reception Supervisor at Vittoria Medical Centre received the training at the practice.

The EHR has been up and running for 18 months with Beth doing the majority of the training on her own.  As this was quite an achievement we thought the moment could not pass without acknowledging it.  To mark the occasion, Beth presented Denise with a basket of fruit on Wednesday 6th July 2005. Janine Keegan, Practice Manager, was also present.  Denise and Janine both made the following comments about the Electronic Health Record

Comments made

  • The waiting time for results and letters waiting to be received has been cut dramatically
  • Duplication of blood results/tests for diabetic patients has been reduced
  • The discharge summary from Wirral Hospital Trust is received so much quicker
  • The A & E discharge letters can be retrieved from the Electronic Health Record
