Going Home

Most children are ready to go home a few hours after their operation.

The length of recovery time is dependent on the child and the type of

operation they have had.

Before you go home, your nurse will give you some written and verbal information to help your parents/carers continue your care at home.

You may not need to see a doctor before you go home,

Family
your nurse will give you all the information you need.

Children may need to take a paracetamol product such as calpol or disprol for pain relief following surgery. Parents/carers should have a supply ready at home.
