Arriving on the Ward

 

ARRIVAL TIMES

Morning surgical cases must report at 8.00 am to the Children's Admissions Unit located on the first floor in the childrens' play room.

Afternoon surgical cases must report to the Children's Admissions Unit at 12.00 midday.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON THE WARD
On arrival you & your parent/carer will be asked some questions about your health, and the nurse will give you any general information you need.
IF YOU ARE HAVING AN OPERATION

A surgeon and an anaesthetist will see you and your parent/carer and answer any questions you have. You will be given an anaesthetic. The anaesthetic may be given by injection, but a special cream will be applied to your hand to make the skin numb.
